Bali Rice Terraces & Cliffs
A pool villa above Ubud's valleys for rice terraces and water temples, then a clifftop villa in Uluwatu for the sunset Kecak dance and seafood at Jimbaran.

Three nights in the hills, then four by the sea, with one move in between. From the U.S., Bali is a long journey with a connection in Asia, so we give it a full week and keep the first days light.
The itinerary
Day by day
Day 1
Arrival in Bali
Your driver meets you at the airport for the drive of about an hour and a half to Ubud. Whatever the hour, the villa's pool is waiting.
Day 2
Rice Terraces at Sunrise
A guide walks you through the rice terraces at first light, while it's cool and quiet. Spend the afternoon at the villa, and see a Balinese dance in Ubud in the evening.
Day 3
The Water Temple
Your guide explains the purification ritual at a water temple, where you can join the Balinese in the spring-fed pools. Stop for lunch above the terraces on the way back.
Day 4
South to the Cliffs
Drive south to Uluwatu, about two hours in traffic. At sunset, watch the Kecak fire dance at the clifftop temple, and keep a firm hold on your sunglasses, as the temple monkeys are quick.
Day 5
The Spa
A couples ritual of massage, scrub and a flower bath fills the morning. The rest of the day belongs to the pool and the view.
Day 6
A Beach Below the Cliffs
Take the steps down to one of the small beaches at the foot of the cliffs for the morning, then come back up for lunch and the afternoon.
Day 7
Jimbaran at Sunset
The last full day is open. In the evening, your table is on the sand at Jimbaran Bay, with grilled seafood and the sunset.
Day 8
Home from Bali
The airport is under an hour from Uluwatu, so a late flight still leaves you most of the day.
Want it a little different?
Choose a calm swimming beach at Nusa Dua instead of the cliffs, add three nights on the Gili Islands, or break the journey with a stopover in Singapore.
