Dubai Skyline & Desert
Old Dubai by abra, the Burj Khalifa at sunset, dinner in the dunes and a day in Abu Dhabi, with a beach resort to come back to each afternoon.
- Duration
- 4 nights
- Guide price
- from $2,900 pp
- Best time
- Nov–Mar
Sightseeing happens in the mornings and evenings, and the middle of each day is spent at the resort, out of the heat. One hotel for all four nights works because Abu Dhabi is an easy day trip. Opening hours change during Ramadan, whose dates move each year, so we check your dates against it first.
The itinerary
Day by day
Day 1
Arrival in Dubai
A driver meets you at the airport for the short ride to your beach resort. Whatever time you land, the rest of the day is for settling in.
Day 2
The Creek and the Tower
Start early, before the heat, in the Al Fahidi quarter, then cross the creek by abra to the spice and gold souks. Spend the afternoon at the beach, and ride up the Burj Khalifa in time for the sun to set over the city.
Day 3
Into the Desert
Keep the morning for the pool. In the afternoon your driver heads into the dunes for a drive over the sand, a camel ride and the sunset, followed by dinner at a desert camp under the stars.
Day 4
Abu Dhabi
A guide takes you to Abu Dhabi, about 90 minutes away, for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Louvre Abu Dhabi. The mosque asks for modest dress, and your guide will tell you what to bring.
Day 5
Home from Dubai
Flights to the U.S. leave at all hours. If yours is late in the day, we ask for a late check-out so the beach is yours a little longer.
Want it a little different?
Trim it to a two-night stopover on the way to the Maldives or Asia, add a night at a desert resort, or choose a resort with a kids' club for a family version.
