On Santorini, cliff-top villages spill over the rim of a flooded volcanic caldera, and each evening seems to bring the whole island to a standstill as the sun drops into the Aegean. On Mykonos, a maze of bright lanes leads to waterfront tavernas, tiny chapels and the famous windmills above Little Venice.
The two islands make a natural contrast, a ferry ride apart: Santorini for views, wine and romance, Mykonos for beaches, dining and a little glamour. There’s time, too, for a morning on ancient Delos, a swim from a quiet cove, or a long lunch of grilled fish with your feet almost in the water.
Honeymoons and milestone anniversaries suit the islands especially well. Add a few days in Athens, or see our Mediterranean Cruise page if you would rather reach them by ship.
