The itinerary
Day by day
Day 1
Arrival on Your Island
You are met in Malé for the transfer to your island: a seaplane flight over the atolls, the first highlight of the trip, or a speedboat if the resort is close by. At the villa, your first swim is straight off the deck.
Day 2
The House Reef
A guide takes you out on the house reef, where turtles and rays are regular sightings. Go back on your own after lunch, now that you know where to look.
Day 3
A Sandbank of Your Own
A boat drops the two of you on a sandbank with a shaded picnic lunch and collects you later in the afternoon.
Day 4
Spa and a Sunset Dhoni
Your couples treatment is in a spa pavilion built out over the lagoon. Late in the day, board a traditional dhoni as the sun lowers over the Indian Ocean, and keep watch for dolphins in the wake.
Day 5
Last Full Day
Nothing is booked until evening, on purpose. Swim from the deck, take a paddleboard out or visit a nearby local island. For your final night, dinner is set up for the two of you on the beach.
Day 6
Back to Malé
The seaplane or speedboat returns you to Malé, with your international flight booked late enough that the connection isn't a race.
Want it a little different?
Swap the overwater villa for a beach villa if you're bringing children, add nights to split the stay between two islands, or move the dates into manta season.
